Refers to the context in which language is used in our daily social interactions with others. It includes what we say, how we say it, our body language – (whether it is appropriate in the given situation), taking turns in conversation, presupposition (presumptions/assumptions), and implications. Pragmatic language can be unique to different cultures such as slang, idioms, jokes and tone of voice.
