The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) helps people with a permanent and significant disability to live an ordinary life. This is done through supports in achieving greater independence, being more involved in the community, gaining employment, and improved wellbeing. Funding is available for ‘reasonable and necessary’ supports that help people with a disability to achieve their goals. The NDIS has been rolled out via the NDIA.
